The Adamstown Community Days committee has announced changes for the 2022 season. The celebration has been extended to four days, a new ride company - Tons of Fun Shows - has been engaged for the event, and a silent auction will be included among the activities.
This year's celebration will be held over Memorial Day weekend, starting Thursday, May 26, and extending through Sunday, May 29. All events will take place in the community grove just off Route 272 near the Adamstown swimming pool. The grounds will be open from 5 to 10 p.m. on May 26 and Friday, May 27, and from 2 until 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, and May 29. The grounds will also be open for the Sunday morning worship service.
Adamstown Days will kick off on May 26 with a pork and sauerkraut dinner by the Ephrata Bible Church and Seasoned Kitchen. A family ride special will be offered, games will be open, and carnival food will be available for purchase. Vendors and local nonprofit groups will feature hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries, ribs, brisket, cheesesteaks, sausage sandwiches, homemade egg rolls, Mexican food items, and strawberry shortcake. The New Individuals will play at 7 p.m.
On May 27, an open cruise night will be held. The Adamstown Lions Club will serve a pulled pork dinner under the pavilion beginning at 5 p.m. Entertainment on May 27 will be the Uptown Band, featuring Erich Cawalla, at 7:30 p.m.
On May 28, Abundant Life Christian Church will offer chicken barbecue in the pavilion starting at noon. Josh Levingood will coordinate karaoke at 4:30 p.m. in the stage area. At 7:30 p.m., The Mahoney Brothers will return to perform "Jukebox Heroes Live."
On May 29, the traditional community worship service will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the stage. Abundant Life Christian Church will again serve chicken barbecue in the pavilion at noon, and a family ride special will be offered from 2 to 5 p.m. At 6:30 p.m., oldies band Flamin' Dick and the Hot Rods will perform. The grand finale of Adamstown Community Days will be a fireworks show featuring 10,000 rockets at 10 p.m.
The silent auction will include a variety of items and gift cards. Those wishing to participate may visit the Community Days game tent.
No admission fee will be charged, and parking will be free. Free professional entertainment will be held under the circus tent each evening, but seating is limited, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs.
