To educate the public about tick risk and tick bite prevention in companion animals, Penn State Extension will offer a webinar, "Tick Prevention on Companion Animals," from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 26. Instructors will discuss how to protect pets from tick bites and prevent them from bringing ticks into the home. The event is designed for owners of dogs and cats in the northeastern United States.
The session will cover primary ticks that are found on pets and veterinary concerns associated with these ticks, available treatment options for ticks on pets, how to prevent ticks on pets, and how to reduce ticks around the home and lower the risk of a tick bite for people who live with a pet.
The webinar is available to the public at no cost. Registration is required by noon on May 26 to receive the webinar link. Participants can find more information by visiting https://extension.psu.edu and searching for "Tick Prevention on Companion Animals." Registrants also will receive access to the webinar recording.
