Lititz Library Posts Calendar

The Summer Reading Program, themed "Oceans of Possibilities," will run from Wednesday, June 1, to Thursday, Sept. 1, for adults age 18 and older and from Saturday, June 4, through Saturday, Aug. 13, for children and teens from birth through age 19. Prizes will be awarded starting Monday, June 20. Registration is available online, or participants may stop by the library for materials and more details.

Ongoing programs include Yoga in the Morning at 9 a.m. on Fridays; Astronomy Enthusiasts of Lancaster County, featuring "Introduction to Variable Stars" by Bruce Hackenberg, at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1; Knitting Club, for knitters and crocheters, from 10 a.m. to noon on Mondays, June 6 and 20, and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31; Library Conversations on Tuesday, June 7, at 6:30 p.m.; Painting Club at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, June 8 and 22; and the Great Decisions Discussion Group at 6:30 p.m. on June 8.

Also, the Jane Austen Society on Tuesday, June 21, at 6:30 p.m.; Buckhill Sleuths Book Club on Monday, June 27, at 2 p.m.; Lititz Art Association on Tuesday, June 28, at 6 p.m.; BYOB - Bring Your Own Book (Club) for adults on Thursday, June 30, at 2 p.m.; the Summer StoryWalk, "Shine!" by Patrick McDonnell, available daily; and Backyard Story Times, 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and 10:30 a.m. on Thursdays through June 9.

Electronic Resources at the Library, focusing on hoopla and Libby, will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 13.

Tai Chi Easy will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14. The program, for people of all abilities, will offer a blend of gentle movement, breathing, and meditation. Online registration will begin on May 31.

A Backyard Family Concert featuring Bravura Brass will take place on Thursday, June 23, at 6:30 p.m. Attendees should bring a blanket or chairs to the outdoor concert, which will be moved indoors in the case of rain. Online registration is required and will begin on Thursday, June 9.

Oceans of Possibilities will be held by the Center for Aquatic Sciences on June 7 at 3 p.m. for people of all ages.

Celebrate Pollinator Month will begin at 10 a.m. on June 13 for children ages 5 to 10. Penn State Extension Master Gardeners will present a story and teach how to do the honey bee waggle dance, and attendees will take home pollinator remembrances. Online registration will begin two weeks before the program.

A naturalist from the Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation will present "Swimmy the Fish" for children ages 3 to 5 at 10 a.m. on June 22. Participants will be able to make a lobster or jellyfish. Online registration will open two weeks before the program.

Easy Comic Book Writing will be offered by Keville Bowen for youths ages 10 to 18 at 6:30 p.m. on June 27. Online registration will open two weeks before the program.
