Local Library Calendar Set

Kreutz Creek Library (KCL), 66 Walnut Springs Road, York, will offer programs and services to the community. Registration is required. For details and registration, visit http://www.yorklibraries.org.

SummerQuest 2022: "Oceans of Possibilities" will be offered from June to August. A kickoff event will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 4. Packets may be picked up at the library as of Wednesday, June 1, and at the kickoff event. The kickoff will feature a bounce house, the service dog Captain Dargo from the York County Sheriff's Department, cupcake decorating, a Truck Touch, an ocean-themed selfie station, and DownTown, the York Revolution's mascot.

Programs for children up to age 3 will include Baby and Toddler Story Time on Wednesdays, June 15 and 22, and Kindermusik on Wednesday, June 29. Preschool Story Time for children ages 3 to 5 will be held on Fridays, June 17 and 24. All programs will run from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.

For the Online Lego Challenge, themed Lego challenges will be posted to KCL's Facebook page on Monday mornings for eight weeks starting June 13. Participants of all ages may build and take a photo of their creations, then post the photo in the comments or email it to kreutzcreeklibrary@yorklibraries.org.

Design Your Own T-Shirt will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on June 13 and from 2 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14. Attendees of all ages should bring a pre-washed (without fabric softener) white or light-colored T-shirt or pillowcase.

Tween programs for individuals ages 9 to 12 will take place on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m., with The Danger Club on June 14 and the Library Squad on June 28. Attendees should register via the online KCL calendar.

Spoiler Alert! is a book review group for teens ages 13 to 18 that will meet via Zoom on Tuesday, June 21, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Drawing for Everyone will be led by local artist Robert Oughton on Thursdays, June 16 to July 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. for youths age 10 and older. Participants should bring something to draw on and draw with, a legal-size clipboard, and samples of their drawings.

Tiny Teen Art: Sea Glass Wave will start on Tuesday, June 14, on the York County Libraries (YCL) YouTube channel, yorkcountylibrariespa. Participants will create a work of art with Candi J. Duda Stained Glass Studio and may pick up a kit at KCL after June 1.

BEAST Initiative: Community Gaming will be led by LaQuinn "Tru Beast Mode31" Thompson for teens ages 13 to 18 on June 21 at 17 N. Main St., Red Lion, and on June 22 at Martin Library, York. Space is limited, and both sessions will run from 2 to 4 p.m.

Other programs are as follows: a Pirate Treasure Hunt, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 20, for children ages 8 to 11; "Little Dolphin" and Echolocation, 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, for children ages 6 to 11; The Enviroscape with Penn State Master Watershed Stewards, 2 to 3 p.m. on June 28, for children ages 6 to 11; Leap Into Science, 2 to 3 p.m. on Friday, June 30, for children ages 6 to 11; and Pirates: Lost at Sea, 10 to 10:45 a.m. on June 30 on Zoom, for people of all ages.

Green Thumb Garden Talk will feature "Easy Care Kitchen Herb Gardens" with Melanie Markowski on Thursday, June 9, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Registration is not required.

Murder at the Library, a virtual author event, will run from 7 to 8 p.m. on June 29. The program will feature "The Texas Job" by Reavis Z. Wortham. Participants should read the book prior to the program.

The Friends of Kreutz Creek Library Branch Support Group will gather on June 28 in the Community Room at 5:30 p.m.
