Baby boomers and seniors and their families and caregivers are invited to the 17th annual York County 50plus EXPO on Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the York Expo Center, 334 Carlisle Ave., York. Presented by OLP Events, the York County 50plus EXPO will feature more than 90 exhibitors displaying products and services related to travel, housing, medical services, nutrition, home improvements, finances, health care options, and more.
Admission and parking are both free.
WellSpan Health will sponsor a Health and Wellness Area with free information, seminars, and health screenings for blood pressure, proper lifting and posture, skin cancer, joint pain, women's health, and more.
The York County Area Agency on Aging has teamed up with local businesses and organizations to host Falls Free York, a special area dedicated to fall-prevention education, tools, and local resources.
Kmart will provide flu shots on a first-come, first-served basis at the expo. Flu shots are no-cost for most people with Medicare Part B and most insurance plans, and individuals should bring their insurance cards. For all others, the vaccine will be offered at separate special prices for the trivalent (regular) flu vaccine, quadrivalent flu vaccine, or high-dose vaccine for people age 65 and up.
The day's presentations and entertainment will feature guidance on estate and elder law planning, information on nutrition and the brain, information on the causes of and treatments for hearing loss, and more.
