The Chester County Youth Orchestra (CCYO) invites the public to its third annual Mid-Winter Pops! Concert on Sunday, Feb. 24, at 3 p.m. at the Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center, 226 N. High St., West Chester. Under the direction of Katrina Kelly and Mark Cellini, the orchestra will perform music from the stage and the screen, including music from "Star Wars," "Wicked," and more.
CCYO provides an opportunity for students in grades six through 12 to make music with a full symphony orchestra and allows them to meet fellow musicians from school districts across Chester County and nearby areas. CCYO is dedicated to giving young musicians the chance to grow musically by performing challenging works from the standard orchestral literature, as well as music from the cinema and the Broadway stage. Members of the CCYO play music from many different composers, styles, and time periods.
CCYO is consistently seeking musically talented students ages 11 to 18. Audition dates for all instruments will be posted on http://www.ccyo.org. For those looking to financially partner with the orchestra, gifts of any amount are appreciated.
Tickets for the upcoming concert are available at https://uptownwestchester.org. For more information about CCYO, readers may visit http://www.ccyo.org and find @ccyorch on Facebook and Instagram.
