Youth Chorus Will Resume Activities

The Lebanon County Choral Society (LCCS) will resume Youth Chorus activities for the first time since the spring of 2020. The Youth Chorus is open to any singer entering third through eighth grades, and no auditions are required.

Founded in 2011 by Sean Hackett, who now directs the Adult Chorus, the Youth Chorus is under the direction of Karen Umberger. Rehearsals for both groups are held on Mondays at Hebron United Methodist Church, 451 E. Walnut St., Lebanon. The Youth Chorus practices from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and the Adult Chorus rehearses from 6:30 to 9:15 p.m. This season, during rehearsals, masks will be optional for youths and optional with proof of vaccination for adults.

The chorus seasons run from September to December and February to May, and singers may participate in one or both seasons. In anticipation of the regular rehearsal season beginning in September, the Youth Chorus will host a free, one-day camp on Monday, Aug. 15, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

To register for the camp or to learn more about LCCS, email managementlccs@gmail.com.
