Several young musicians performed for their parents and friends as well as residents of Juniper Village during a piano recital on March 1. The piano students of Carole A. Bubacz presented the program at Juniper Village in Mount Joy.
In the first segment, each student played two or three solos. Selections included folk tunes, show tunes, and classical pieces. Performers ranged in age from 8 to 17 years old and included Stewart Carter, Sarah Heinz, Dominic Juarbe, Cassie Ginder, Lindsey Shaud, Benjamin Heinz, and Alayna Brubaker.
The second half of the program included a Suzuki Book Three graduation recital performed by Lilly Stehman. Lilly is the daughter of Katie and Scott Stehman of Mount Joy. She performed two movements of Kuhlau's Sonatina, Op. 55 No. 1; one movement of Clementi's Sonatina, Op. 36 No. 3; and five short pieces by Petzold, Beethoven, Schumann, Gurlitt, and Bartok. A student at Donegal High School, Lilly participates in soccer, track and field, concert band, chorus, and musical. She is a member of the National Math Honor Society, Donegal Key Club, and the youth group at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mount Joy.
