AACA Museum Plans Auction

Antique auto enthusiasts and history buffs will have the opportunity to bid on a ride in one of the rarest classic cars - a Tucker '48. The AACA Museum, 161 Museum Drive, Hershey, will present this opportunity during a live auction at its annual Night at the Museum fundraiser on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Three winners and a guest of each will go for a spin in one of the 47 Tucker '48s known to still exist, and the only one with an automatic transmission: Tucker 1026.

The Night at the Museum event will also celebrate the motoring hobby and honor this year's AACA Museum's Automotive Heritage Award recipients, Bill Miller Jr. and the late Chip Miller, founders of Carlisle Events. This year's program will be casual, so guests can enter the event straight from the Hershey vendor's field.

Starting at 6 p.m., guests can join a reception in the galleries of the museum, or they can attend a VIP reception with the Millers. At both receptions, attendees will enjoy a variety of vintage vehicles while savoring hors d'oeuvres and beverages. The receptions will be followed by a seated family-style dinner and the presentation of the award to the Millers. Throughout the evening, items will be available through a silent auction, and live bidding will feature highlighted items, including the rides in Tucker 1026.

Professional interpretive actors will be matched alongside iconic vehicles in the museum's collection. Actors will portray Forrest Gump, Whitney Houston, Preston Tucker and others throughout the evening. The quartet Razzmatazz will entertain attendees with its blend of singing and comedy. All beverage service is included with the purchase of an event ticket. Event tickets, a full menu and auction details are available at http://www.AACAMuseum.org.
