A group of community members called the Aaron's Acres Dream Makers will gather virtually via Zoom on Tuesday, June 23, at 7 p.m., and all those interested in learning more are welcome to attend. The Dream Makers is a group of individuals who believe in the Aaron's Acres mission of "Embracing Possibilities Beyond Disabilities" and who serve as advocates for the organization.
Aaron's Acres is a local nonprofit providing individuals with disabilities ages 5 through 21 with year-round therapeutically based recreational programs that are focused on enhancing communication and socialization skills. Aaron's Acres' signature program is a summer camp, which takes place from June through August every year. During the upcoming Zoom meeting, details will be shared about how Aaron's Acres is currently meeting the needs of participants and how programming will be delivered in a new way this summer. Information about expansion plans for the future will also be shared.
The annual commitment for Dream Makers is typically attending two meetings, one in the spring and one in the fall, and also visiting the summer camp program. Additionally, the Aaron's Acres administrative team presents several projects that are in need of support and members vote on the project that they would like their collective contributions to fund. There is a set financial commitment per year; however, there is no need to make a membership donation in order to participate in this virtual meeting to learn more.
Anyone interested in participating in the meeting or receiving more information may contact Kate Mullen, director of development and community relations, at katemullen@aaronsacres.org or 717-917-6101, ext. 105.
