AAUW Program Will Feature Beekeeper

Tiffany Ayres, local beekeeper, will be the featured speaker at this season's first meeting of the York Branch American Association of University Women (AAUW) on Tuesday, Sept. 10. After a 6:30 p.m. social time, Ayres' program, which will be open to the public, will begin at 7 p.m. at York Alliance Church, 501 Rathton Road, York.

Her topic for the evening will be "Mysteries of the Honeybee." She will share about honeybees' uniqueness, colonies, hazards and hardships, and she will also discuss what human lives would be like without honeybees and what people can do to assist in their survival.

Membership in AAUW, whose stated mission is to advance gender equity for women and girls through research, education and advocacy, is open to any graduate with an associate or equivalent, baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited institution.
