Adamstown Library Posts Activities

Adamstown Area Library, 110 W. Market St., Adamstown, will offer a variety of in-person and virtual programs for people of all ages. To register or view more details, visit http://www.adamstownarealibrary.org/events.

Donations of nonperishable food items will be collected to support the Cocalico Food Pantry (REAL Life Community Services) in its fight against hunger in the community. The library will collect donations for the food pantry at all programs and events throughout the summer.

The Friends Book Sale will be held on Tuesdays in June from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Starting June 14, book donations may be brought to the conference room on Tuesdays.

REAL Life Community Services will host Young At Heart for anyone age 60 and older on Wednesday, June 15. Participants will meet at the library for coffee, chatting, games, crafts, and more. For more details, call 717-336-7797 or visit http://www.reallcs.org.

Teen SummerZine will meet via Zoom on Tuesdays, June 21, July 5, July 19, Aug. 2 and Aug. 16, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Teens ages 12 to 19 will work with three Pennsylvania authors, who will offer prompts and a real-time look at their writing process.

"Budding Bookworms" Preschool Story Time with Miss Maribeth will meet on Wednesdays at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. and is open to children ages 2 to 5. Master Gardener Pollinator Story Time will be held on Wednesday, June 15, at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m.

Tammi Hessen: Drums will take place on Friday, June 10, at 10 a.m. at Adamstown Grove. Drums and props will be provided for participants age 5 and up.

STEM: Kaleidoscopes and Stop-Motion Animation will be offered on Monday, June 13, from noon to 6 p.m. in the library. Students may drop in anytime during the event to participate. An adult is required to accompany children under age 8.

LEGO bag pickup for children ages 5 to 12 will be held on Monday, June 13, while supplies last. The bag will include instructions for a special project. Supplies are limited, so one bag per family is requested.

A Bermuda Triangle Virtual Escape Room will be held for participants age 8 and older on Tuesday, June 14, at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom. The Genealogy Group for adults and older students will meet on June 14 at 6:30 p.m.

Adamstown Pool Story Time and book checkout will take place on June 15 at 1 p.m. at the Pool Pavilion. A library card is required to check out books. A pool entrance fee at a discounted rate or membership is required.

A Teen/Tween Rainbow Walking Water STEM activity will be offered on Thursday, June 16, at 1:30 p.m. at Adamstown Grove.

Let's Explore a Stream will be led by Lancaster County Parks and Recreation Department on Friday, June 17, at 10:30 a.m. at Reamstown Park and Playground. Participants ages 5 to 10 will get into the water and collect critters that live there.

Teen Take and Make Packet Pickup will be held on Monday, June 20, while supplies last. June will be Stencil Scratch Art.

A Nature Show at Refreshing Mountain, 455 Camp Road, Stevens, will take place on Tuesdays, June 21 and 28 and July 12 and 19, at 10 a.m. at the Nature Center. The show will focus on Pennsylvania native and exotic creatures from around the world.

Favorite Flavor of Goldfish: Surprise Taste Testing will be held on Wednesday, June 22, at 1:30 p.m. at Adamstown Grove. Participants of all ages will try to guess the flavor and then vote on their favorite.

"Follow the Flow, Where Does the Water Go?" will be held on Thursday, June 23, at 10 a.m. at Chapel Gate Park, Reinholds. Through this hands-on, interactive STEM demonstration, participants of all ages can see how everyone plays a part in contributing to the pollution of creeks, streams, and rivers. Families can hike the Wetlands Trail after the program.

"In the Small, Small Pond" will be held on Friday, June 24, at 10:30 a.m. at Denver Park. Children ages 2 to 5 will learn about animals that live in and around a pond and their life cycles through hands-on activities.

A Comic Book and Animation Workshop will be offered on Tuesday, June 28, at 6:30 p.m. at the library with Keville A. Bowen. People ages 10 to 18 will learn a fun and easy approach to art and animation.

Mini-Chef Morning: Ocean-Themed Snack will be held on Thursday, June 30, at 10 a.m. at Adamstown Grove. Children age 6 and under will be provided with basic skills needed to create a balanced snack.
