Adamstown Area Library, 110 W. Main St., Adamstown, is open for all regular services. Curbside and vestibule pickup are still be available. To protect children under age 12 who are not yet eligible for COVID-19 vaccines, the library requests that all visitors wear a mask while in the library.
The Summer Reading Program continues, and there is still time to pick up packets at the library. Patrons may also register online at http://lancasterlibraries.beanstack.org.
The library will host a variety of outdoor events for children and families this summer, as well as virtual and adult programs. The full schedule and registration are available through the Events Calendar at http://www.adamstownarealibrary.org/events.
Story time programs will include Adamstown "Groovy" Grove Story Time on Fridays at 9:30, 10, and 10:30 a.m. at Adamstown Grove through July 23 and Adamstown Pool Story Time on Thursday, July 8, at 1 p.m. The grove and pool are both located on West Main Street.
Tails, Tracks and Turds will take place on Wednesday, July 7, at 10 a.m. at Adamstown Grove. Teen SummerZine will continue on Tuesdays, July 20 and Aug. 3 and 17, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. via Zoom for writers ages 12 to 19.
A Nature Show at Refreshing Mountain will be offered for people of all ages on Mondays, July 12 and 19, at 10 a.m. at the Nature Center at Refreshing Mountain, 455 Camp Road, Stevens. Attendees should meet at the park in Parking Lot B.
Let's Learn Spanish for children ages 5 to 12 will take place on Sunday, July 18, at 1 p.m. via Zoom. The program will be led by teacher Erin Kregar and students Kira Lapi and Carlina Christy from the Cocalico High School Global Scholars.
Jeff Boyer's Big Bubble Bonanza will be held on Wednesday, July 21, at 10 a.m. at Adamstown Grove; this program is open to families. ZooAmerica Tales of Tails will be offered to people of all ages on Monday, July 26, at 1 p.m. at Adamstown Grove.
Hangouts With Hank will take place on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. on Facebook. Friday Frolic With Hank: Book Reviews will be available on Fridays at 1 p.m. on Facebook.
Three activities are available at any time outside the library. Sidewalk Safari is a sidewalk chalk activity on the ramp, and the Themed Scavenger Hunt is in the woods behind the library. The I Spy Tails & Tales Window is outside the library next to the picnic table.
