The Friends of the Lancaster Public Library will hold their annual Adopt-a-Book event on Friday, April 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the library, 125 N. Duke St., Lancaster. All are welcome to drop in to enjoy light refreshments and live musical entertainment compliments of the Friends group.
A special preview for Friends members will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. prior to the event. To learn more about joining the Friends, readers may visit http://www.FriendsofLPL.org and click on Membership and Volunteering.
Adopt-a-Book offers the community a unique opportunity to help grow and shape the library's collection of books. Attendees may browse hundreds of titles and "adopt" items. These items will remain at the library and receive bookplates commemorating the donor or honoring a loved one. Once selections are processed and added to the library's collection for circulation, donors will have first dibs on borrowing them. All purchases are tax-deductible contributions to the library.
Those who wish to support this benefit but cannot attend may make a donation online at https://lpl-adoptabook2019.eventbrite.com. The Friends group will choose an item on their behalf and acknowledge their contribution on the nameplate.
