Hempfield recCenter, 950 Church St., Landisville, has announced its winter class for youths and adults who wish to become certified lifeguards. Participants must be at least age 15.
The lifeguarding course includes both water safety instruction, basic first aid and CPR instruction in accordance with the American Red Cross. A skills pre-test is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14, from 1 to 4 p.m. The certification course will take place over one weekend, from Friday to Sunday, Dec. 4 to 6.
Space is limited. Separate fees have been set for Hempfield recCenter members and for nonmembers.
