Annual Christmas Kickoff Planned

The email from Kellye Martin, who is coordinating the Lititz Christmas in the Park event, was both cautious and hopeful. "At this time, no capacity restrictions are in place and no pre-registration or tickets are required," it read. "All are welcome to attend. Please check back before the event for any health and safety related updates to this event. Hope to see you there!"

The annual Lititz Springs Park Christmas in the Park celebration will take place on Friday, Dec. 3, at 6:30 p.m. at the bandshell in the park, 24 N. Broad St., Lititz. As in the past, the approximately 30-minute event will include live music, carol singing, and the countdown to the lighting of the town Christmas tree. In the case of inclement weather, the event will be canceled.

This year, the Christmas blessing will be delivered by Pastor John Knudson of LifeSpring Fellowship Church in Lititz. The 2021 featured performer, Encore Dance Center's Performance Company will present a holiday dance routine. Organizers also plan to include the Warwick High School Concert Choir and Production Company under the direction of Deb Kline-Smith. A traditional highlight will be a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.

The event is free, but in the spirit of community, opportunities to make a goodwill offering for Lititz Springs Park will be available at the entrances.
