Jane Wolf will be the presenter at the Lititz Art Association meeting on Tuesday, March 26, at 6:30 p.m. at the Lititz Public Library, 651 Kissel Hill Road. She will speak about how to use inks and high-flow acrylics with a variety of mediums and textural materials. The program is free and open to the public.
Wolf has worked in various mediums both during her schooling and during her teaching years in Maryland and the School District of Lancaster, where she taught both junior high and high school. She has worked in printmaking, watercolor, stained glass, and acrylic painting. When she retired in 2012, one of her goals was to have the time to create art. She connected with Julie Youtz Rupp, a teacher at the York Art Association, who introduced her to a different way of painting with acrylics.
Wolf uses a nonpourous substrate, free-flowing paints, and lots of water, along with other textural materials, such as molding paste, tar gel, plastic wrap and wax paper. Wolf sometimes uses canvas with the fluid acrylics, as it gives a different effect.
The purpose of the Lititz Art Association is to foster fine arts and to cooperate with other associations having similar purposes. Membership is open to all interested persons 18 years of age or older. Meetings are held the last Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the Lititz Public Library.
