Friendship Heart Gallery and Studio and Friendship Community will host their 18th annual art auction. The seven-day virtual event, titled "Celebrate Every Talent," will run from 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 25. The pieces in this year's auction range in size, medium and subject matter.
In addition, a Paintbrush Pull will be held at the closing of the auction. For a set donation, individuals will receive a number that corresponds to one of many paintbrushes. Bundles of six paintbrushes may be purchased at a discount. The number on the paintbrush that is pulled at the end of the auction will determine the winner of a gift basket filled with a variety of items from the Primitives by Kathy Collaborative Collection of home decor items, handmade jewelry by the Heart artists, greeting cards and a Friendship Heart Gallery gift certificate.
In addition to purchasing art, community members may give toward three projects to enhance the studio experience. Funds may be given toward purchasing new laptops, larger canvases to facilitate more collaborative pieces and technology kits for Heart artists to explore new digital media.
The online event is free and open to the public. Proceeds will benefit artists with intellectual disabilities and autism, enabling them to express their capabilities.
