Arts Program Sets Upcoming Season

The Arts at Millersville has unveiled its upcoming 2019-20 season. Readers may visit the lobby at the Ware Center, 42 N. Prince St., Lancaster, for a copy or download a free copy at http://www.artsmu.com.

A Season Launch Party will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, in the Lyet Lobby of the Ware Center. The event is free and open to the community. Light refreshments will be served.

The Arts at Millersville season includes the Performing Arts Series, which features music of all genres, theater, and dance as well as Family Fun Fest events. Club 42 showcases jazz and cabaret acts in a club setting while the On Screen/In Person film series brings documentaries and filmmakers to the community for conversations regarding relevant topics. University Arts includes faculty and student groups from the Tell School of Music as well as University Theatre productions.

The season will open with An Evening With Jake Shimabukuro at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, in Steinman Hall of the Ware Center. The season will continue with "Smile! A Cabaret With Broadway's Rob McClure" on Monday, Sept. 30; "Chanticle" on Wednesday, Oct. 9; King Street Big Band with Tuck Ryan and Basie and Sinatra at the Sands on Saturday, Nov. 16; and Natalie Macmaster and Donnell Leahy: A Celtic Family Christmas on Thursday, Dec. 12.

Tickets will be discounted through Sept. 6. Multi-show discounts are also available.
