Immaculata University now offers two new athletic training program options. The accelerated three-plus-two track provides students an option to complete an accelerated bachelor's degree matriculating into the university's Master of Athletic Training program (MAT). In addition, a traditional four-year curriculum in pre-athletic training, leading to a Bachelor of Science in exercise science, is also available with the flexibility of enrolling in Immaculata's MAT or another graduate program within the field.
With the new curriculum tracks, students can either complete all five years in Immaculata's accelerated MAT program - saving time and money - or earn a Bachelor of Science degree and be prepared for other graduate programs within the field. Courses have a variety of flexible formats, including online and hybrid.
Undergraduate athletic training majors learn foundational knowledge in biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, and exercise science to prepare for graduate studies in athletic training or related disciplines. Students in the three-plus-two track enter the MAT program starting in their fourth year of college.
In the master's program, students utilize evidence-based practices to prevent, diagnose, and treat various conditions in physically active individuals.
