Amazing Kids Club (AKC) - a program of TrueNorth Wellness Services - will host its first Autism Resource Fair on Thursday, March 21, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at 1181 Westminster Road in Hanover. Open to children, families, caregivers, and staff impacted by autism spectrum disorder, the event will feature resources, information, exhibitors, giveaways, and a question-and-answer time.
Exhibitors will be on-site to provide attendees with information about activities, services, products, and more that are specifically geared to children on the autism spectrum and their families. Additionally, AKC will present information about its 2019 Summer Therapeutic Day Program and will be giving out forms to begin the registration process.
The Amazing Kids Club is a year-round, on-site therapeutic program for individuals ages 2 to 21 with autism spectrum disorder or social pragmatic communication disorder. The program focuses on developing communication, socialization, and play skills in a less-intense environment than one-on-one strategies and is designed as either a stand-alone program or a supplement to other forms of treatment.
Amazing Kids Club Summer Camp, an 11-week, full-day summer program, is held in Hanover and Red Lion, and it offers clinical evidenced-based treatment with an increased opportunity for fun and community integration with peers. The camp is available to all current and new enrolling clients as well as children who would like summer-only services. All who are interested in attending must complete a registration packet, which will be available at the resource fair.
The resource fair is free and open to the public. No registration is required. Full details about the resource fair are available at http://www.truenorthwellness.org/events.
