Babysitting Class Slated

Penn State Extension Chester County 4-H will hold a babysitting class on Monday, July 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. located at the Penn State Extension Chester County office, 601 Westtown Road, Suite 370, West Chester. The class is designed to help prepare youths age 11 and older for babysitting. Each participant will learn characteristics and needs of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers; safety and basic first aid; and other topics related to caring for someone else's child and for oneself when home alone.

Participants will receive a babysitting certificate upon successful completion of the program. A cost for the class has been set, which includes 4-H membership, and there is a lower fee for current 4-H members. Participants should plan to bring their own lunch, as lunch will not be provided.
