CrossNet Ministries will hold a student backpack giveaway on Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at CrossNet Youth Center, 110 W. Franklin St., New Holland. The program is open to those eligible for free and reduced-cost lunch programs in ELANCO School District.
CrossNet will provide backpacks filled with school supplies to ELANCO students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Proof of ELANCO residency is required.
Community resources will include haircuts and hairstyling on a first-come, first-served basis, a clothing closet, lunch and snacks while supplies last, eye screenings from 10 a.m. to noon, a dental hygiene clinic from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and WIC on Wheels in the afternoon. A free immunization clinic will be provided for uninsured children under age 18; records are required, and appointments may be made by calling 717-354-4711, ext. 101.
