Beef Summer Field Day Set

The annual Beef Summer Field Day on Saturday, July 20, will feature a variety of speakers sharing information and offering stockmanship ideas for cattle producers. State College beef cattle producers in all segments of the industry are invited to attend. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Penn State Snider Agricultural Arena in State College, and the field day will conclude at 3 p.m.

The field day will emphasize topics relating to beef sustainability, current government policies affecting the beef industry, and effective stockmanship and low-stress handling of beef cattle. Lunch will be served by Carvers Deli and Barbecue, State College, and tours of the Penn State Beef Barns and Haller Farms will be available following the end of the program. The field day, which includes the workshop sessions, lunch, and the tour, will be free because of the sponsorship of the Pennsylvania Beef Producers Working Group.
