An Exploring, Growing Together study, "A Clash of Kingdoms: Paul Proclaims Jesus As Lord, Part I," will be held on Mondays from Jan. 6 to Feb. 24. Sessions will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lititz United Methodist Church (UMC), 201 E. Market St., in room 101 on the lower level.
Attendees will learn how the apostle Paul shared about Christ in Philippi, a Roman colony. Teacher and historian Randy Vanderhaan will highlight the historical, geographical, and cultural contexts of Scripture in the DVD sessions.
If Warwick School District schools are closed, class will not be held. A Discovery Guide book may be purchased for class sessions.
Additionally, Exploring, Growing Together, a forum learning series at Lititz UMC, will continue its 2019-20 forum learning series, which aims to offer a safe learning environment in which to discuss and explore topics and beliefs. The group meets on Thursdays on the lower level of the church from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
On Jan. 16, 23, and 30, 2020, the group will discuss "Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers, a retelling of the biblical love story of Gomer and Hosea, set against the backdrop of the California Gold Rush. A discussion guide will accompany the sessions led by Gerry Gwinn.
Flyers for the 2019-20 series may be obtained from the lobby Missions Table and the Room 101 lower-level bulletin board. Flyers and brochures are available at the small group kiosk.
Readers may contact Linda at 717-626-0745 or raven303@ptd.net for more information on "A Clash of Kingdoms," as well as the forum learning series, including to offer suggestions for books and leaders.
