The DUI Council of Lancaster County has unveiled its latest billboard created by the Leaders of Future Generations Program students. It is located at the corner of West End Avenue and Manor Avenue in Lancaster city.
The creation uses the message "Not All Teens Drink Alcohol" and is designed to break the stigma and encourage teenagers to not consume alcohol.
The Leaders of Future Generations Program is part of Compass Mark, which aims to prevent addiction through education, skill-building and community mobilization. The DUI Council of Lancaster County commended these students and their adviser, Lauren Krebs, for continuing to help educate others on the dangers of underage drinking.
The Underage Drinking Tip Line is available 24/7. Anyone who knows of an underage drinking situation, such as a party, an establishment serving minors or parents serving minors, can call 888-UNDER-21 anonymously their call will be investigated.
The DUI Council of Lancaster County is a nonprofit organization established in 1987. The council is committed to partnering with community members to take an active role in reducing the incidences of impaired driving, changing risk-taking behaviors, dispelling social misconceptions, preventing underage drinking and limiting youth access to alcohol.
The council is funded by the Lancaster County Drug and Alcohol Commission through a grant provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Health's Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs.
