Bird Club Posts Webinar

The Lancaster County Bird Club (LCBC), in collaboration with Wildside Nature Tours, will present a live, free webinar on birding at Big Bend National Park in Texas on Thursday, Nov. 12, from 6:45 to 8 p.m. This program will be recorded and available to all registrants, including those who are unable to attend the live presentation. Registration is required in advance by visiting http://www.lancasterbirdclub.org and looking under the Events tab.

Presenter Lee Hoy began birding in Big Bend over 30 years ago. He will share hotspots and expected birds in the park as well as tips on finding the most species, what time of year to bird and where to stay. In the mix will be images of the birds, wildlife and scenery in the park.

Hoy is owner and operator of Big Bend Birding & Photo Tours. He is an award-winning photographer whose images have been in Texas Parks & Wildlife Magazine, Texas Highways, Bird Watcher's Digest, and other publications. He serves as a photography workshop instructor for Wildside Nature Tours.

Hoy's interest in birding was sparked during his first visit to Big Bend National Park in August 1989 when a canyon towhee caught his eye in the Chisos Basin. Since then, he has traveled to 49 states and seven Canadian provinces in search of birds and other wildlife.
