Governor Dick Environmental Center, 3283 Pinch Road, Mount Gretna, will offer several events. Programs are open to the public, but preregistration is required by contacting 717-964-3808 or governordick@hotmail.com and providing a name and phone number. Attendees should meet at the Environmental Center.
Story Forest will be held for children up to age 10 at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2. Participants will hear a story about a famous bear and learn what black bears do to survive the winter. A fee applies.
A Walk in Penn's Woods will be offered on Sunday, Oct. 3, at 1:30 p.m. The program is a statewide event, and participants will learn about forest management practices and how birds respond.
Toddlers in Tow: Find Pawpaws will take place on Friday, Oct. 8, at 10 a.m. Children ages 2 to 5 are invited to the program and hike. There is a fee.
