The Elizabethtown Area Chamber of Commerce (EACC) has announced an opportunity for small businesses to apply for one of 10 grants of $500 each. The grants do not need to be repaid.
In 2017, Destination Etown, a partnership between EACC and Elizabethtown College, was selected by Lancaster County Community Foundation's BB&T Economic Growth Fund program to receive funding designed to stimulate economic growth in the Elizabethtown area. Elizabethtown College contributed $5,000 to the Revolving Loan Fund portion of the program, which is open to active EACC members.
In an effort to provide support to local businesses, Elizabethtown College offered to amend the use of its contributed funds from a loan to a grant. The foundation approved the amendment, and the EACC board of directors voted unanimously to provide this opportunity to EACC members.
Application for these funds will be available on Thursday, April 30, at noon. The grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis according to the timestamp of the application entry. Participation is limited to active EACC members operating a business that has between one and 10 employees, with two part-time employees equal to one employee. Only one entry per business will be accepted.
