The York Chapter of Credit Unions has announced Brady White and Ashleigh Brady as the winners of its 2019 scholarship contest. Both received $1,000 to go toward their first year of schooling.
White is a member of First Capital Federal Credit Union and a senior at West York Area High School. He will attend Millersville University in the fall and pursue a degree in music. He has been involved in wrestling, National Honor Society, and the jazz, concert, and marching bands. He volunteers at WellSpan, the York County SPCA, and Habitat for Humanity.
Brady is also a member of First Capital Federal Credit Union. She attends Dallastown Area High School and will attend Wilkes University in the fall to pursue a degree in pharmacy. She has been the manager for the varsity football team and a member of the Leo Club and National Honor Society. She volunteers at the York Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy and with the York County Alliance for Learning.
In addition to the presentation of the scholarships, the meeting on May 13 also featured Mandy Arnold from Gavin Advertising, who spoke about the importance of one's personal brand. Attendees also received a sneak preview of the speech Sara Zambrano prepared for the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association's Connect conference, where she was slated to represent the York Chapter of Credit Unions during the state competition.
