Programs will include "Hidden Secrets of Mount Gretna" on Monday, June 27, at 9 a.m., starting at Porch and Pantry; the fifth annual photo scavenger hunt throughout July, with clue sheets available at the Mount Gretna Visitor's Center; The Keystone Rehrersburg Band's annual Independence Day concert on Monday, July 4, at 7 p.m. at the Mount Gretna Playhouse; "The Genius of Gutenberg" on Tuesday, July 19, at 7 p.m. in the Hall of Philosophy, with a donation requested; History on the Porch at 10 a.m. on Saturdays, July 23 to Aug. 13, at the Mount Gretna Area Historical Society; "Walk Around Camp Meeting - Its History and Architectural Styles" on Saturday, July 30, at 10 a.m. in the Tabernacle; and "Chasing Chicadees" on Thursday, Aug. 25, at 7 p.m. in the Hall of Philosophy.
The Chautauqua will offer its final art camp program, "Art & Feelings," for children ages 6 to 12, on June 27 at 10 a.m. in the Hall of Philosophy. There is a fee, and registration is available by calling 717-964-1830.
Other programs will include Fairy Tale Morning and Ice Cream Breakfast on Saturday, June 25, at 9 a.m. in the Hall of Philosophy; the Fourth of July Bike Parade on July 4 at 10 a.m. at the Hall of Philosophy; and Yoga for Kids, for children in first grade and up, on Thursdays, June 23 to Aug. 4, at 10 a.m. at Stacey's Place Gazebo.
The Friday Night Series will take place in the Hall of Philosophy, with programs beginning at 7 p.m. on Fridays, unless otherwise noted. Programs will be Creating the Need to Censor on June 24; Sarah Tyson Rorer on July 1; Pictures Worth 1,000 Words: Myths in Greek Art on July 8; Finance and Faith on Thursday, July 21; Navajo Code Talkers on July 29; Prisons and the Future of Communities on Aug. 5: Mount Gretna Architecture on Aug. 12; and Eton Churchill Series: Original Plays by the Playwrights Alliance of Pennsylvania on Aug. 26 at 6 p.m.
Jesse Waters from Elizabethtown College will present the Poetry and Literature Series in the Hall of Philosophy. Programs will focus on writer Joyce Carol Oates on June 23 at 7 p.m.; poet Mary Oliver on July 1 at 10 a.m.; poet Mark Cox on July 8 at 10 a.m.; writer Bob Dylan on Thursday, July 14, at 7 p.m.; poet Time Seibles on Friday, July 22, at 10 a.m.; and Waters' own writing on Aug. 4 at 7 p.m.
Lebanon Valley College book reviews will be presented on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. in the Hall of Philosophy, unless otherwise noted. Topics will be "The Underground Railroad" by Coulson Whitehead, reviewed by Adam Bentz on June 28 via Zoom; "Icebound: Shipwrecked at the End of the World" by Andrea Pritzer, reviewed by Kevin Pry on July 5; "If I Understood You, Would I Have This Look on My Face? Organ recitals will be presented by Ryan Brunkhurst on Wednesday, June 22, and by Abbie Wood, Wednesday, June 29. The programs will take place at Mount Gretna United Methodist Church, Fourth and Boehm avenues, at 7 p.m. A set donation is requested.
"Exploring the Collaboration of Composer, Singer, and Pianist: The Music of Gershwin" will be presented by soprano Alison Mekeel and pianist Debra Ronning at the Mount Gretna Playhouse on Thursday, July 28, at 7 p.m.
Mah Jongg will be played on Mondays at 1 p.m. through Sept. 5 on the porch of the Hall of Philosophy. People at all levels of play are welcome.
Yoga will be offered on Wednesdays at 4 p.m. through Sept. 14 in the Hall of Philosophy. There is a fee per session.
The Chautauqua will partner with the Mount Gretna School of Art to present "Four Pillars Artist-in-Residence Panel" with Jacob Janes and Misato Pang on June 22 at 10 a.m., "Natural Reality and Abstract Reality" with Kurt Moyer on June 27 at 7:15 p.m., and "Beyond Habitual Seeing: A Meditation in Color" with Lorna Ritz on June 29 at 10 a.m.
