Mount Pisgah Trinity United Methodist Church (UMC), 5615 Mount Pisgah Road, York, will host a Community Health Awareness and Ministry Fair and Blood Drive on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is designed to be informational and fun for the community.
Attendees may try pickleball for fun, and they may also challenge themselves or friends on a 40-foot obstacle course. Face painting will be available for children. Kerry White will present a concert from 11 a.m. to noon in the sanctuary. White is retired from teaching in the Eastern York School District.
A coat giveaway will be held for infants through 12th-graders. New or gently used coats will be given away from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hats, scarves, gloves and mittens will also be available. Children must be present to receive a coat.
Representations of health care organizations, community ministries and senior life organizations will be present. The following organizations are scheduled to be represented: American Cancer Society, York Area Agency on Aging, Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank, Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, Child Evangelism, Community REACH, Crime Stoppers, Eastern York Workcamp Initiative, Gift of Life, American Heart Association, Home Helpers, Lifepath Christian Ministries, Lower Windsor Police, Mount Pisgah Trinity UMC, River Rescue, Rotary Club, Senior Life, Susquehanna Senior Center, Susquehanna Service Dogs, SpiriTrust Lutheran Senior Companion Program, Suicide Prevention of York, Yorkana Fire Company, Weis Markets, WellSpan Diabetes Education and Veterans Helping Hands. Information will also be available on dental hygiene, Alzheimer's disease, REAL ID and more.
Information sessions will start at the following times: 9:30 a.m., Suicide Prevention of York; 10 a.m., Lower Windsor Police presentation on fraud; and 10:30 a.m., Crime Stoppers.
Chicken corn soup, sandwiches and baked goods will be available.
