Lancaster Church of the Brethren, 1601 Sunset Ave., Lancaster, invites children and families to participate in two summer events. Weather permitting, both events will be held outdoors.
A Faith and Fun Night will take place on Thursday, July 21, at 6 p.m. The vacation Bible school-style drop-off event for children age 4 to fifth grade will include a Bible lesson, crafts, and music. The evening will end with an ice cream social at 8 p.m. for the children, their families, and anyone else from the church or community who would like to attend. There is no cost for the event, but advance registration is requested by contacting the Rev. Jamie Nace at jnace77@gmail.com or by visiting http://www.lancob.org/events.
The church has extended an invitation to the ice cream social to on- and off-duty officers from the Manheim Township Police Department. Two K-9 officers are scheduled to attend.
On Friday, July 22, a Magic and Movie Night will begin at 6 p.m. The evening will also feature the BBQ Trough and Here We Dough food trucks with items available for purchase from 6 to 7:30 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., local magician Majik Andrew will present a magic show. A showing of the movie "Encanto" will begin at 8 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket.
