Patriotic Program Will Commemorate Memorial Day

May 24, 2019 - 4:00 pm

The Susquehanna Stage Company will present "A Musical Commemoration of Memorial Day" on Sunday, May 26, at 4 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 301 St. Thomas Road, Lancaster.

A reprise of the program presented last year for Memorial Day, the hourlong performance will feature patriotic poems and songs such as "America the Beautiful," "God Bless America," "Imagine," "In Flanders Fields," and "You Raise Me Up." Jim Johnson, Susquehanna Stage Company's artistic director, created the program.

The Susquehanna Stage Company was founded 11 years ago in Marietta by community members who shared a passion for musical theater.

Following the concert, all are invited to enjoy refreshments prepared by the 10 Episcopal churches in Lancaster County. While there is no ticket price for the concert, a freewill offering will be received to benefit the All Lancaster Episcopal Response Team (ALERT). ALERT exists to serve those who have suffered particularly following an emergency and works to act as Christ's hands and heart through prayer and practical help.
