Cookies will be sold by the pound in the upper part of the church. The sale will feature traditional favorites like chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin and sugar cookies, as well as less common selections such as Italian pizzelles.
"We will also have lemon bars; pfeffernüsse which is a German cookie; rum balls; peanut butter bars; macaroons; and chocolate crinkles. All (cookies) are homemade and delicious," said GUMC member Barbara Carter, one of the event organizers. She noted that dog and cat treats will also be offered for sale. Cookies containing nuts will be clearly marked.
Downstairs in the church, vendors will offer a variety of crafts for sale, including knitted items, jewelry, lawn art, wreaths, holiday decor and home items. There will also be a silent auction offering donated creations by each of the craft vendors.
A light lunch of hot dogs, chicken salad sandwiches, chips and beverages will be available for purchase.
The Cookie Walk and Craft Sale is being sponsored by the Glen Moore United Methodist Women. Proceeds will be used to fund various missions during the year. "Over the past year we have supported Colonial Woods, City Gate in Coatesville, area food banks, Glen Moore Fire Company, Good Works, Women Against Domestic Violence, Steeple to People and others," Carter noted.
