Lampeter Church of the Brethren and Willow Street Mennonite Church will provide an opportunity for the community to engage in prayer on the National Day of Prayer, Thursday, May 2. The event will take place in the Family Life Center of the Lampeter Church of the Brethren, 1900 Lampeter Road, Lancaster, from 3 to 8 p.m. This year's theme, from John 13:34, is "Love One Another. Just As I Have Loved You." All are welcome.
The event will feature prayer stations that families, groups, or individuals may to move through at their own pace and in their own style. Prayer stations will be focused upon seven spheres of influence: church, family, government, education, arts and media, business, and health. Each station will provide information and suggestions for how to pray and what to pray. Attendees may pray aloud or silently. There will also be opportunities to share personal prayers on a Prayer Wall, to take Communion, and to illustrate a banner. People of all ages may participate.
