Classes, Programs, Events Proceed at Rec Center

Lititz recCenter, 301 W. Maple St., is continuing its summer programs and has rescheduled annual competitions to August and September. Group fitness classes have restarted with a weekly schedule of more than 100 options for aquatic fitness, virtual fitness, and group instruction with certified trainers. Capacity in classes is being limited through the summer.

Summer camps will continue through mid-August at Lititz recCenter for children ages 3 through 12. Weekly outdoor and indoor camps offer fun and learning with sports, art, and science. Specialty day camps for children ages 4 through 8 include Diggers on Monday, July 27, and Princesses on Tuesday, July 28, at Lititz recCenter.

Additionally, recROC, an indoor bouldering and obstacle facility on the Rock Lititz campus at 201 Rock Lititz Blvd., will also host summer camp weeks beginning on Mondays, July 20 and Aug. 3, for children over age 6. The recROC camp weeks will include bouldering skills, obstacle challenges, and fitness for youths and team building.

Camp registration for Lititz recCenter and recROC is open to all community children and can be done at http://www.lititzrec.com. Camp sign-ups can also be made in person at Lititz recCenter or recROC or by calling 717-626-5096.

The rec center's annual summer golf tournament will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at Iron Valley Golf Course, 201 Iron Valley Drive, Lebanon. A bag lunch is included with registration, and an outdoor dinner is also planned. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit youth programs offered throughout the year at Lititz recCenter.

The rec center's annual triathlon event will be held on Sunday, Aug. 9, with an event start at 8 a.m. While the event is a true swim, bike, and run triathlon, a modified start will be used to help space out competitors through the morning. Registrations will be accepted in advance until a 250-participant total is reached. If space remains, day-of-event registration will take place between 7 and 7:30 a.m. on Aug 9. For specific event and participant safety information, readers may visit http://www.lititzrec.com.

The recROC Boulder Bash indoor climbing competition is now rescheduled to Saturday, Sept. 12. Registration is reopened through Saturday, Sept. 5, for youth and adult boulderers. A modified format will allow waves of competitors to be active on the boulder throughout the day. For safety purchases, spectators must also register.
