The Winters Heritage House Museum will host Elizabethtown College professor David Bowne on Thursday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m. as part of its Conversation E-town lecture series. The event will be held in the H.U. Coble House Community Room, a red brick Victorian house located at 33 E. High St., Elizabethtown.
Bowne will use climate fiction, also known as cli-fi, as a format for a creative short story writing workshop. An optional follow-up workshop will be held at the end of March. Cli-fi is a growing genre of fiction that centers on global warming concepts.
Conversation E-town lectures are informal and interactive ways to discuss world situations, study their effects on the community, and consider a response strategy.
There is a parking lot immediately behind the building. The lecture and workshop are free, but participants are asked to make reservations by calling the museum's front desk at 717-367-4672 or emailing Winters-HH@ElizabethtownHistory.org.
