The theater program at York College of Pennsylvania (YCP), 441 Country Club Road, York, has switched its spring play from the previously announced "A Shayna Maidel" to the contemporary play "A Doll's House, Part 2." Performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. from Thursday to Saturday, March 26 to 28, with a 3 p.m. matinee on March 28.
Written by Lucas Hnath, this play explores the characters of Ibsen's classic play as they reunite 15 years after the action of the original 1870s play. Hnath's 2017 play ran on Broadway and was nominated for eight Tony Awards.
York College's production will feature the final performances of two graduating theater majors. Both Kelsey Snively, playing Nora, of Roebling, N.J., and Charity Stump, playing Anne-Marie, of York, were seen in last semester's "On the Verge" and "Everybody." YCP audiences might also remember Stump as Will Hayes in "Shakespeare in Hollywood" or Snively as Betty in "Red Velvet."
All performances are free and open to the public. Seating is limited, and tickets can be reserved at http://www.ycp.edu/theatre or by calling the box office at 717-600-3868.
