Commissioners Enter Contracts

The York County commissioners have contracted with CivicPlus to create a new website for York County government. The project, which will overhaul the county's current site at http://www.yorkcountypa.gov, will soon get underway with an indeterminate public launch date.

The commissioners also approved a contract with SCYTL of Tampa, Fla., that will offer election report management and online voting results for the county through March 2026.

CivicPlus, based in Manhattan, Kan., builds, designs, and hosts government websites exclusively. The company stood out to York County commissioners because of its work with more than a half-dozen Pennsylvania counties and its familiarity with the digital needs of county governments in Pennsylvania.

The commissioners' contract with SCYTL is designed to make it easier for the county to post election results on the night of primary and general elections. Like CivicPlus, SCYTL's work with other Pennsylvania counties was a major factor in determining its value to York County and the residents who want timely election results on the county's site.

The contract with CivicPlus will cost $59,779 for the first year, with half of that being covered by the ounty's Records Improvement Committee. SCYTL's contract will cost the county $64,569 over a five-year period, paid in full by the Records Improvement Committee.
