The Community Calendar is a weekly feature of the Community Courier.
Local clubs, civic organizations, nonprofit agencies, schools, etc., that would like to have events or meeting date information published, should contact the Community Courier in writing at least two weeks before the event. No items will be accepted over the phone.

"Elvis" Performance
Downingtown Area Senior Center (DASC) will present a performance by Jeffrey Krick Jr., an Elvis tribute artist, on Wednesday, April 17, at 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be included.

Military Talk
Lt. Col. David Kelly, United States Marine Corps (retired), will deliver a presentation about Marine Corps operations in Fallujah, Iraq, on Wednesday, April 17, at 7:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post 134, 305 E. Gay St., West Chester. The presentation will be hosted by the Bradbury Camp, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, which will hold a brief business meeting at the same location starting at 7 p.m. Both the meeting and presentation are open to the public and admission is free.
Easter Events
St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 101 Worthington Road, Exton, invites community members to its Holy Week and Easter events.
Maundy Thursday will be observed on April 18 with supper and Communion at 6 p.m. Good Friday will be commemorated on April 19 at noon.

Society Meeting
West Caln Historical Society will hold a meeting on Tuesday, April 19, at 7 p.m. in the West Caln Municipal Building, 721 W. Kings Highway, Wagontown. The speakers will be Faye and Ed Max, historians, collectors and re-enactors. The couple will display their American Civil War artifacts.
Admission will be free and open to the public. Attendees may bring old or outdated prescription drugs for safe disposal.
Good Friday Service
The Downingtown Area Ministerium will hold a Good Friday service on April 19 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Central Presbyterian Church, 100 W. Uwchlan Ave., Downingtown. For more information, call 610-269-1576.
Easter Sunrise Service
Fairview Evangelical, Faith Alliance and Glen Moore United Methodist Churches invite the community to attend an interfaith Easter Sunrise Service on April 21 at 7:30 a.m. at Wagenseller Park in Glenmoore, located at 140 Park Lane at Creek Road. Attendees should bring chairs or blankets for seating.

Sunday Meditation Service
The community is invited to attend a free group meditation on Sunday, April 21, from 10:15 to 11:45 a.m. at Downingtown Yoga & Meditation Center, 116 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown. The program is open to newcomers as well as experienced meditators.
The program will begin with a chant led by Swami Nirmalananda. Then, attendees will learn how to meditate and enjoy meditating with the group. The program will be followed by refreshments and conversation.

American Legion
Local veterans are invited to attend meetings of American Legion Charles F. Moran Post 475, which meets on the fourth Monday of every month at 11 a.m. at Freedom Village at Brandywine, 15 Freedom Blvd., Coatesville. The next scheduled meeting will be on April 22. A free lunch will follow the meeting. Donations will be accepted.
Membership is open to veterans of various conflicts, including World War II, the Vietnam War, the Korean War and the Gulf War, as well as those currently serving in the War on Terror.

"Catholics Coming Home"
St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 100 Fellowship Road, Chester Springs, will conduct a series called "Catholics Coming Home" beginning Monday, April 22, at 7 p.m. The sessions are for Catholics who are seeking answers to questions about returning to the church. There will be informal sharing and an update of the Catholic faith.

Quilting Group
The Mission Quilters group at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 107 S. 17th Ave., Coatesville, will meet on Thursday, April 25, from 1 to 3 p.m. to create quilts that will be donated to Lutheran World Relief and distributed worldwide. Volunteers are invited to help tie the quilt layers together. No experience is needed.

Open House
The Brandywine Consignment Shop, 368 W. Uwchlan Ave., Downingtown, will hold an open house on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event will include light refreshments and an opportunity to win prizes.
The shop sells quality clothing for men, women and children, as well as furniture, art, collectibles and household items. All proceeds benefit the Brandywine Health Foundation whose mission is to initiate and support programs to improve and sustain the health and well-being of Chester County residents.
