The Community Calendar is a weekly feature of the Community Courier.
Local clubs, civic organizations, nonprofit agencies, schools, etc., that would like to have events or meeting date information published, should contact the Community Courier in writing at least two weeks before the event. No items will be accepted over the phone.

OAHA Meeting
The Oxford Area Historical Association (OAHA) will meet on Thursday, June 20, at 7 p.m. at the Oxford Masonic Lodge Hall, 245 N. Third St., Oxford.
Storyteller Susannah Brody will present "On the Homefront: Stories of the American Revolution." Brody is the author of several books on local history in Chester County. She presents storytelling in local schools as well as for community organizations and retirement communities.
Admission is free.
Buffet Breakfast
Oxford United Methodist Church, 18 Addison St., Oxford, will hold a buffet breakfast on Saturday, June 22. Serving will take place from 7 to 10 a.m. The cost of breakfast will include buttermilk pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, sausage, bacon, oven roasted potatoes, sausage gravy and specialty breads.
Tickets are available from Becky Kleinz, the church office or at the door. For more details, call 610-932-9698. Proceeds will benefit the church's general fund. Any individual whose birthday is in June may receive a free breakfast with proper identification.
Lavender Farm Tour
Parkesburg Library will sponsor a tour of Windy Hill Lavender Farm, 3211 East Lincoln Highway, Parkesburg, on Saturday, June 22, at 10 a.m. During the free, library-sponsored open house, attendees will take a tour, attend a presentation and learn about featured lavender products.

Vacation Bible School
Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church, 1121 Octorara Trail, Parkesburg, will offer a vacation Bible school (VBS) program themed "Roar: Life Is Wild, God Is Good." The program will run from Sunday, June 23, to Thursday, June 27, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Activities will include Bible-learning activities, songs, games, snacks, Bible adventures, collecting Bible Memory Buddies, science gizmos and God Sightings. Each day will conclude with a Safari Celebration. Family members and friends are invited to join for the special time nightly at 8:05 p.m.
Children will join a mission effort to provide nutrition packets and health checkups for mothers and babies in Zambia.

TOPS Meeting
TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), a nonprofit weight-loss support group, will meet on Tuesday, June 25, at the Oxford Senior Center, 12 Locust St., Oxford.
Weigh-in will be at 6 p.m.; the meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Visitors are welcome to attend their first TOPS meeting free of charge. For more information, contact Joyce at 410-375-5629.
Fundraiser
The Parkesburg Lions Club will host a quarter raffle fundraiser at the Parkesburg VFW on Saturday, June 29. Doors will open at 1p.m.; the event will begin at 2 p.m. Tickets are required.
The cost will include two paddles for people to use to bid on various items. Additional paddles may be purchased for a nominal fee. Those will bring either a dry or canned dog or cat food item will receive a free paddle.
Attendees should bring quarters to bid on products from vendors, including Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, Mary Kay, Tupperware, Paparazzi and 3 Pumpkins Plush, in addition to items provided by the Lions Club. There will be a Chinese auction and a 50/25/25. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

Sponsors/Vendors Sought
Community Day in Parkesburg, featuring music, food, fireworks and more, will be held on Saturday, July 6, rain or shine, beginning at 3 p.m. at Minch Park, 400 West St., Parkesburg. All activities will be free, and all proceeds will go to local charities.
