The Community Calendar is a weekly feature of the Community Courier.
Local clubs, civic organizations, nonprofit agencies, schools, etc., that would like to have events or meeting date information published, should contact the Community Courier in writing at least two weeks before the event. No items will be accepted over the phone.

Fundraiser
The Parkesburg Library will benefit from all proceeds from a Kunzler hot dog trailer, which will be on-site at Hershey's Farm Market, 959 S. Octorara Trail, Parkesburg, on Wednesday, July 17, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Patrons may purchase hot dogs only or opt for a hot dog with chips and a beverage. For details, call 610-857-5053.
Ice Cream Social
An ice cream social will be held at Oxford United Methodist Church, 18 Addison St., Oxford, on Wednesday, July 17, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend. The church is located at the corner of Addison and Market streets.
Knitting Group
The Knit This - Purl That knitting group at the Parkesburg Library, 105 West St., Parkesburg, will meet on Thursday, July 18, and every Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Participants should bring their own yarn and needles. Those who have a project they are working on are welcome to bring it to the meeting. In addition to personal projects, the group is currently making lap robes for veterans, shawls for patients at a dialysis center and baby blankets.

Book Sale
The Friends of the Quarryville Library, 357 Buck Road, will host their monthly book sale on Saturday, July 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Tuesday, July 23, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The sale will feature a "Christmas in July" theme.
Society Meeting
The Solanco Historical Society will hold its next meeting on Saturday, July 20, at 1:30 p.m. at the society's Archives Building, 1932 Robert Fulton Highway (Route 222), Quarryville. David Rittenhouse will be the subject of the program presented by Stephen J. Shaw.
Admission will be free and open to the public.
Vacation Bible School
Our Lady of Consolation Church will offer vacation Bible school beginning on Sunday, July 21, from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. at the Schneider Parish Center, 2995 Cemetery Road, Parkesburg. The theme is "Roar: Life Is Wild ... God Is Good."

TOPS Meeting
TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), a nonprofit weight-loss support group, will meet on Tuesday, July 23, at the Oxford Senior Center, 12 Locust St., Oxford.
Weigh-in will be at 6 p.m.; the meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Visitors are welcome to attend their first TOPS meeting free of charge. For more information, contact Joyce at 410-375-5629.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible school (VBS), themed "The Incredible Race" will be hosted at Oxford United Methodist Church, 18 Addison St., Oxford, from Sunday, July 28, to Thursday, Aug. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. VBS is for children from kindergarten to sixth grade.
Youngsters will discover they are all part of the same race - the human race - as they enjoy songs, crafts, games, snacks and dramas. They will also learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings. At the end of each day, the youths will get a summary sheet to share what they have learned.
Family members and friends are encouraged to attend on Aug. 1 at 8 p.m. for a closing ceremony.
