The Community Calendar is a weekly feature of the Community Courier.
Local clubs, civic organizations, nonprofit agencies, schools, etc., that would like to have events or meeting date information published, should contact the Community Courier in writing at least two weeks before the event. No items will be accepted over the phone.

Quilt Guild
Calico Cutters Quilt Guild (CCQG) will meet at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the Goshen Fire Company, 1320 Park Ave., West Chester. This month, Barbara Yates Beasley will share a behind the scenes, sometimes humorous look at her colorful menagerie in a program titled "Animals with Attitude: Lions, Llamas, Bears! Oh My!" There will be a fee for guests.
In addition to a monthly program, CCQG has a Charity of the Month, Block of the Month a Show and Tell and more. This month, the group will collect pillowcases for Ryan's Case for Smiles. Members also create Comfort Quilts and Veterans' Quilts for donation.

TOPS Meeting
TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), a nonprofit weight-loss support group, will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the Oxford Senior Center, 12 Locust St., Oxford.

GriefShare
GriefShare, a support group for those who have lost a loved one, will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Gateway Church, 160 Cowan Road, Parkesburg. Meetings will be held every Tuesday through Oct. 29 from 7 to 9 p.m.
GriefShare is a nondenominational group that features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics. The topic for the meeting on Sept. 17 will be "Guilt and Anger." Participants will learn how to deal with regrets, guilt, bitterness and anger.

Bible Study
Faith Bible Chapel, 140 Bernard Ave., Cochranville, invites ladies from all denominations to a nine-week ladies' Bible study. The topic will be "Couples of the Old Testament." The informal discussion group will meet from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Wednesdays, Sept. 18 to Nov. 13.

Senior's Group
The Strasburg Senior Citizens will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 18, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Strasburg Fire Hall, 203 W. Franklin St., Strasburg. Salads and desserts will be served at noon. The meeting will feature entertainment by Glenn's One Man Band.
The Strasburg Senior Citizens group welcomes new members age 55 and up from Strasburg and surrounding areas. The club offers fellowship, musical entertainment, an annual picnic, a Christmas banquet, bus tours, bingo, refreshments, and more. Visitors are always welcome.

Retirement Program
"Time Matters: A Women's Retirement Outlook" will be presented on Saturday, Sept. 21, at 9:30 a.m. at the Parkesburg Library.
The program is specifically tailored for women who are getting ready for or have recently transitioned to retirement. Attendees will learn retirement income strategies, including perspectives around Social Security and making retirement savings last.

Crab Feast
The Oxford Rotary Foundation will host an all-you-can-eat crab feast at The Wellwood, 523 Water St., Charlestown, Md., on Sunday, Sept. 22, from 1 to 4 p.m. The cost per person will include all-you-can-eat steamed crabs, steamed shrimp, Maryland crab soup, fried chicken, corn on the cob, potato salad, coleslaw, cookies, and brownies.

Pope John Paul II Regional Catholic Elementary School, 2875 West Manor Road, West Brandywine, is looking for crafters and vendors for its craft/vendor show on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
