Community Calendar

The Community Calendar is a weekly feature of the Community Courier.

Local clubs, civic organizations, nonprofit agencies, schools, etc., that would like to have events or meeting date information published, should contact the Community Courier in writing at least two weeks before the event. No items will be accepted over the phone.

Virtual Public Forum

Chester County is developing a strategic plan for the future delivery of fire and emergency medical services (EMS) throughout the county for the next decade and beyond. A virtual forum addressing the issue will be held on Wednesday, June 10, at 7 p.m. The public is welcome to participate.

The forum is being hosted by the Chester County Fire Chiefs Association, the Chester County EMS Council Inc. and the Chester County Fire Police Association. Topics to be addressed include: What will the fire and EMS services look like five, 10 or 15 years from now?; How should fire and EMS services be funded?; and Who should determine what level of protection is necessary?

Underwear Drive

David's Drive 831 will hold a Flag Day underwear drive on Sunday, June 14. The community is invited to drop off donations of new men and women's underwear, socks and T-shirts at East Fallowfield Park, 900 Buck Run Road, Coatesville, between noon and 3 p.m.

Virtual Counseling

Still Waters Ministries, located at Conestoga Mennonite Church in Morgantown, is currently offering virtual one-on-one counseling sessions for clients in Berks, Chester and Lancaster counties.

Counseling is open to both current and new clients who are dealing with a variety of issues, including anxiety, fear, anger, depression and broken relationships. Blood Donors Needed

The American Red Cross is asking healthy people to consider donating blood after a number of blood drives have been canceled due to concerns about the coronavirus.

The Red Cross is facing a severe shortage and is asking people to make an appointment to donate blood by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting http://www.RedCrossBlood.org or calling 800-RED-CROSS (800-733-2767).
