Community REACH Slates Educational Programs

Community REACH, 15 First Ave., Red Lion, offers a number of informative programs on a variety of topics.

A "Ready to Rent" workshop presented by Community Progress Council will be held at Community REACH, 15 First Ave., Red Lion, on Tuesday, Dec. 3. The one-session workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to noon and is free. Light refreshments will be offered. Community Progress Council's "Ready to Rent" workshop is designed to better prepare individuals for renting. The workshop covers topics including affordability, searching for a safe and affordable apartment, subsidized and affordable housing options, pre-inspections, understanding the lease, moving in, landlord and tenant responsibilities, fair housing, avoiding eviction, and moving out. All workshops are conducted by nationally certified housing counselors. Interested attendees should register by calling 717-846-4600, ext. 223 or 230. No child care will be available.

Instructor Sam Neff teaches a "Computers and Technology for Beginners" class at Community REACH from 3 to 4 p.m. on Thursdays in November. Computers are provided. Registration is required for the class, and readers may register by stopping by Community REACH or by calling 717-244-6934.

On Nov. 21 from 10 to 11 a.m., Stepheni Anderson of HACC will visit Community REACH to conduct a "Computers and Technology for Beginners" class. On Monday, Nov. 25, from 10 to 11 a.m., Wells Fargo's Sherrie Horton will present "Digital Workshop." Light refreshments will be served, and registration is required. There will be door prizes.

Represenatives of the Manufacturers' Association will present the class "Essential Skills in Manufacturing" at Community REACH on Friday, Dec. 6, from 10 to 11 a.m. Participants will be able to learn about opportunities with companies associated with the Manufacturers' Association.
