The Friends of Milanof-Schock Library will host their annual community yard sale behind Milanof-Schock Library, 1184 Anderson Ferry Road, Mount Joy, on Saturday, May 7. The event will run from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Members of the community may rent a 15-by-10-foot space to sell items. This opportunity is open to people who are self-employed, artists, crafters, people who do not have space to have their own yard sale, and others.
In addition to finding bargains, shoppers will be able to purchase breakfast or lunch from food trucks during the event. The Chubby Unicorn and Caffeination Station will be available from 7 to 10:30 a.m., and The BBQ Trough will be on-site from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
To rent a space, contact Marilyn at the library at 717-653-1510. Proceeds from the space rentals benefit Milanof-Schock Library.
In addition, the library will hold its annual plant exchange on May 7 in conjunction with the yard sale. Anyone interested in bringing plants for the exchange must preregister by calling the library. Only non-invasive plants will be accepted, and houseplants may be brought in.
Plants should be brought to the library between 8 and 9 a.m. that day; they should be properly identified and in nonreturnable containers. The exchange will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. outside behind the library. At the end, community members may make a small donation to the library and take home any unclaimed plants. Readers with questions may call the library and ask for Kim.
