John and Shirley Warfel of Millersville celebrated their 50th anniversary on May 2. The couple celebrated with an 18-day trip to Alaska, the Yukon, and British Columbia. The trip included a four-night cruise through the Inside Passage.
The Warfels were married on May 2, 1970, at Stehman Memorial United Methodist Church by Rev. Edward T. Uhler.
Mr. and Mrs. Warfel are the parents of April Horst, wife of Darin, East Petersburg; Alison Warfel of Union Mills, N.C.; and Ashley Shenk, wife of Kevin, Lancaster. They have two grandchildren.
Mr. Warfel is retired from the facilities management department of School District of Lancaster. Mrs. Warfel is a retired secretary from Penn Manor School District in Millersville.
Mr. and Mrs. Warfel attend New Danville Mennonite Church in Lancaster.
