Wayne and Mary Lou Lawton celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on Sept. 4. The couple had originally purchased tickets to see "Queen Esther" at Sight & Sound Theatre, but received a message on Friday night that the theater would be closed that day and that their tickets would be honored at a later date.
The Lawsons' daughter and son-in-law suggested they go to Burger King and order Whoppers so they would "have a 'whopper' of an anniversary and a 'whopping' good time." So, Wayne and Mary Lou went to the Elizabethtown Burger King and ordered two Whopper meals. When the employees learned it was the Lawtons' anniversary, they gave the couple a Hershey's Sundae Pie.
