COVID-19 Response Fund Established

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC) and the United Way of the Capital Region have, in partnership, established a COVID-19 Community Response Fund. Hosted by TFEC, a community foundation serving Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lebanon, Perry, and northern York counties, the COVID-19 Community Response Fund will provide emergency funds to long-standing nonprofit organizations in Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lebanon, Perry and northern York counties that are responding to the spread of COVID-19 and experiencing financial challenges by doing so.

TFEC, in partnership with United Way of the Capital Region, will proactively identify potential grant recipients, solicit guidance on potential recipients from community advisers, and recommend final awards. Funds will be released on a rolling basis as fundraising continues throughout the outbreak and recovery phases of the crisis, making it possible to move resources quickly and adapt to evolving needs in subsequent funding phases. Provided efforts will seek to expand local capacity to address the outbreak as efficiently as possible. Should donations raised through the fund no longer be needed for COVID-19 relief, remaining funds will be used for future disaster relief in the area.

Individuals and organizations are encouraged to donate via http://www.tfec.org/covid19. More information is available by contacting Jennifer Strechay at jstrechay@tfec.org or 717-236-5040.
